Wesnoth

Well, after some 10 months of inactivity, the portuguese translation for the linux game “Battle for Wesnoth” seems to be back to its feet. Tiago started working on his own during the month of august, bringing many of the core packages back to 100% status, and now in september some 4 other contributors sprang out of nowhere.

So today I’ve sent to the developers a package with many translation files, gathered from this team (now 7 people!). I wonder if we can close and review all the core packages by the end of october :-).

On a side note, the spider in the column, here in the lab, finished waving its web. It is again big and perfect, and I got a glimpse of an idea of why the former web was destroyed. I saw a small fly trap itself into the web, and as it struggled to get out, it broke some of the web’s strands, which proceeded to trap it further. Hmmm, so maybe some really big bug (or silly janitor) got trapped in the spider web.

Also, while I watched the spider “resting” after finishing the web, I noticed two big depressions in its abdomen, that looked like two eyes. Quite charming, the illusion. The egg nest is still undisturbed. I wonder how long it will take for the eggs to hatch dozens of cute little spiders…

Baah why don’t you just put a picture of that spider up for us…
