Blog status

So it has been four months since I’ve moved my blog from www.castelodelego.org/claus to claus.castelodelego.org, so that I could track the stats for it.

In general, I have some low but steady traffic, of around 200 visits per month. Most visiting countries are, in order, Japan, US and Brazil (with singapore in 4th, thanks Neo!). I’m still kinda puzzled by US being in second… No one from us dropping comments here.

Maybe they are people who drop here through the japan bloggers webring? or maybe through random google searches? This month’s searches, thought, aren’t THAT weird… we have the usual suspects: www.bizarresex.com, and false cognate, things that I have mentioned in passing on my blog, but somehow people still click through google (or yahoo?) and add to my logfiles.

Maybe the weirdest thing in the stats are the search spiders numbers. If you look at which engines brought more people to my blog, it is google, followed by yahoo, and then msn. However, if you check the number of hits from search engines web crawlers, it is the opposite: Google is last, with 54 crawls so far, followed by yahoo, with 200 crawls, and lastly MSN, with a staggering amount of 1000 crawls.

This is silly, why does MSNbot has to crawl my site so much more often than google? I’m tempted to leave a “do not enter” plaque on my robots.txt file, to keep M$’s little paws out of my blog.

Oh well, you know that a blogger really doesn’t have ANYTHING better to talk about when he starts rambling about his recent blog stats. I should get my lazy ass out of this chair and start posting my pic backlog again…
