Asagohan!

This weekend, Yoshio, a friend from Fukuoka, who is staying at my apartment with his girlfriend while he visits Tokyo, presented me with something that is, simply put, genial:

Asagohan.mp3 - 5Mb

Basically, some vocal group in japan took part Beethoven’s 5th symphony, and made a vocal interpretation. But instead of just singing the music, they added a little parody. My japanese isn’t good yet to understand everything, but basically, they starting discussing what they’re going to eat for breakfast (”asagohan”). They discuss many options, and everytime they are about to reach an agreement, some other idea sparks that make them start discussing it again. In the end, they discussed for so long that the breakfast time is over, and it is time to prepare lunch.

But not only that, the parody is GOOD. The singers are obviously professionals, or very good hobbists. I don’t know enough about music to cite the qualities of the recording, but this is really top quality vocal work.

Download it and see it for yourself.
