A big earthquake, and something even worse…
This morning I was greeted at six thirty by a nice and slow shake… It was one of those that don’t really worry you that much, but my new apartment’s structure makes a lot of noise when it is shaking, so it served to wake me up.
The shake, albeit weak, was rather long. Checking the earthquake info site, I found out that it was actually a strong quake deep in the sea, which mean most of northern japan felt it to some degree (but no where more than a 3). Nice.
After waking up, I put out the trash, prepared breakfast, took my bath, the usual… When I was about to live for school, there were two old japanese men waiting on the outside, dressed in suits and carrying briefcases full of papers… they saw me and started talking, asking if I had any problems, if the earthquake was too terrible.
It was quite confusing until they told me they had the solution to all my problems: JESUS CHRIST! Then I noticed one of the old men were carrying a bible, and the papers they were carrying were those church propaganda leaflets. It turned out they were Jehovah witnesses on their morning converting rounds. Oh well…
It was interesting, though, they were quite shy about what they were doing, unlike their brazillian counterparts. In Brazil, also, mostly old ladies, not old men, go around the houses in the morning distributing leaflets… finally, the most amazing thing is, although the leaflets were all in japanese, all the pictures sported very blonde, very blue eyed gaijin in them.
Well, I think it was bound to happen once I moved into a proper home, but it still caught me somewhat surprised… ![]()

Oi Claus!
Ps.: Finalmente to postando do meu micro!!!!:-)
