On one hand, they are religious zealots (even if the matter isn't religion per se) - there are religious zealots who aren't going to let their children donate blood or go through life-saving medical procedures due to their beliefs. So they might very well reject the use of the research - that does not make them right.

On the other hand, they are hypocrites. There are slaughterhouses for animal products that treat animals WAY worse than research institutes (which have strict ethical controls), but the activists never go after them - because corporations can fight back much better than researchers.
So they might just turn around their beliefs if it will benefit them directly.

One way or the other, this pisses me off mightly.</description>
