My turn being a reviewer for GECCO

One silly thing that has always bugged me is that since I began participating in GECCO, back in 2008, I had never been invited as a reviewer.

This is kind of a “first-world-problem”, because in general reviewing papers is a hard job with few rewards. In particular, conference review is extra thankless, since there is usually no option for authors to fix minor mistakes that could slash the chances of their papers being accepted (although conferences with rebuttals have become more common in the past 5 years or so).

Anyway, this year I finally got an invitation to review GECCO papers, and it made me kinda happy? I will probably regret when it comes the week where I have to review 5-9 papers all at once but… /shrug
